Redistricting Plans: New York

In New York, redistricting plans are created by an advisory 10-member bipartisan redistricting commission and submitted to the legislature. If the legislature or governor rejects two proposed plans from the commission, the legislature may then modify the proposed redistricting plans. The final redistricting plans are enacted by the legislature subject to gubernatorial veto. Democrats control the legislature and the Governor's office.
