Redistricting Plans: Iowa

In Iowa, restistricting plans are enacted by the legislature and are subject to gubernatorial veto. Iowa has a bipartisan advisory redistricting commission which draws maps for the legislature to accept, reject, or modify. In the event that the legislature fails to adopt congressional districts prior to a deadline (December 1, 2021 for the 2020 redistricting cycle), the Wisconsin Supreme Court draws the maps. Republicans control the legislature and the Governor's office.
